Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership

Program Description

The Chicago Campus' Organizational Leadership doctoral program is ideal for experienced managers seeking to further their careers by creating leadership models that fulfill organizational needs of the future. The program is offered in an on-ground, weekend format that is convenient for working professionals.

Students in the Organizational Leadership program gain the skills to assume leadership roles in management consulting, strategic human resources, organizational effectiveness, and executive teams. The program's forward-focused curriculum considers current and future organizational needs, including demographic shifts, globalization, and technology—knowledge crucial to addressing the wide variety of work settings that leaders and consultants encounter. Theory comes to life as students bring their real-life experiences to the classroom and in online discussions, testing the  viability of current leadership views and practices.  Each student is encouraged to explore and develop his or her own unique approach to becoming an effective leader of the future.

Graduates are equipped with a rich understanding of traditional theories of leadership and organizational effectiveness, as well as progressive perspectives related to globalization; ethics; diversity and multigenerational workforces; the impact of technology on work and workers; organizational design, including teams and teamwork; retaining and developing workforces; and managing organizational change.
