The Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) is the highest-level degree for those who wish to apply their knowledge as psychology practitioners. The Chicago School offers this doctoral degree in many areas, including Clinical Psychology, Applied Clinical Psychology, Clinical Forensic Psychology, Business Psychology, and Marital and Family Therapy. Psy.D. coursework and practicums are designed to produce a professional who is a practitioner first, and a researcher second. The Chicago School's Child Play Therapy and Adolescent Psychotherapy concentration within the Applied Clinical Psychology Psy.D. program provides students with a solid foundation in innovative approaches to child and adolescent therapy. Subjects addressed within this concentration include such areas as directive, non-directive, and systematic approaches to play therapy and adolescent psychotherapy; sand play therapy; foundations of play therapy; and psychotherapy with adolescents.
