A Message from President Michele Nealon-Woods


Dear Friends,

It is with excitement, expectation, and great responsibility that I take on the role of President of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Throughout the past 15 years, The Chicago School has been a second home for me. I had the unique opportunity to witness its evolution through many perspectives - as a student, faculty member, department chair, campus dean, and most recently campus president. I originally chose The Chicago School for the same reason most of our students do today; because of its focus on psychology's real-world applications and emphasis on diversity and multiculturalism. Above all, I believed in its mission. I still do. I begin my service with a renewed commitment to work with diligence and compassion to ensure that our dynamic institution strives for excellence, prominence, and quality in all we seek to achieve.

My vision for The Chicago School flows from the unwavering commitment of our faculty and staff, the limitless energy and enthusiasm of our students, the wise guidance of our trustees and leadership, and the needs of the people and communities we serve. When I arrived at the Dearborn Station campus in the early 1990s we were a regional school with one program. Today we are a national organization with more than 20 programs and international connections. Our students and faculty are engaged in projects throughout the Midwest, Southern California, Online, forthcoming in Washington, D.C., and locations across the globe such as Peru and Rwanda. Our work is just beginning.

These are exciting and busy times for us all as we calibrate the engine of innovation that is The Chicago School. I am eager to keep our institution moving forward; to discover the opportunities and challenges that await us as we strive to achieve our goals. Let's think forward with an open mind, let's look forward with clear vision, and let's move forward with strength of purpose.
