The Chicago School of Professional Psychology to host Illinois Psychological Association

The 2010 Illinois Psychological Annual Convention, Empowering Psychologists Through Diversity, will be held at The Chicago School's Chicago Campus, and at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza on November 4-6, 2010. The Chicago School is the host and a sponsor of this year's conference.

The Chicago School Faculty will also present at the Convention: Clinical Psychology Professor Meghan LeBlanc will co-present a program entitled "Diversity in behavioral medicine: diagnosis and treatment of Central Sensitivity Syndromes" on Friday, November 5th.

Learning Skills for Living with Autism

Adolescence is hard enough for anyone, but for youth with autism it presents a unique set of challenges. Chicago School student Corey McDonald created a program for her middle-school-aged autistic students that is helping them learn relational skills and feel accepted among their peers.

A Ray of Hope from Across the World

Chicago School alumna and faculty member, Dr. Marilee Aronson, is giving hope to youth in an impoverished South African community. Heavily involved in the Bokamoso Youth Centre in Winterveld, South Africa, Dr. Aronson helps provide career training, workshops, and scholarship opportunities to young adults whose future might otherwise look bleak.

With more than 400 street gangs, Los Angeles has the unfortunate title of Gang Capital, USA. But a Chicago School grad is trying to change that with a new anti-gang program. He’s putting his psychotherapy skills into practice and witnessing amazing transformations.
