International Psychology Student Builds a Global Network

Helena Baillio's international psychology professor asked her students how they were changing the world. Determined to find an answer, Helena created International Observation, a website community devoted to global issues that's gained readers from over 80 countries.

Online International Psychology Ph.D. student Helena BaillioHelena uses the website to connect with and advise people from all over the world on issues such as oppression, advocacy, environmental sustainability, and prejudice. The site has opened doors for her, giving her opportunities to work with such organizations as Global Aquaculture Resources, and the American Statistical Association, as well as to author several publications.

Currently, Helena is taking Chicago School online courses from the Gulf Coast, where she is investigating the local, national, and global impact of the 2010 BP oil spill.

"I want to be an agent of change. I am in the process of self discovery and I'm finding out where my place is in the world."
