The Master of Arts degree designates graduates as having a mastery or extensive knowledge of an area of study. An M.A. can help students advance their current career or prepare them to pursue a doctoral degree. Graduates of our M.A. programs obtain the training necessary to apply learned theories, concepts, and best practices to their present and future work. Students in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) master's program learn to effect socially significant behavioral changes through the systematic collection and analysis of data. ABA professionals work with individuals with developmental disabilities, those in regular educational settings, and those who wish to improve performance or master skills in a variety of ways.

M.A. in Counseling Psychology, Child and Adolescent Treatment Concentration: TCS-OPP:Washington DC

The Child and Adolescent Treatment Concentration, offered in the Counseling Psychology master's program, provides specific education in the mental health assessment and treatment of children and adolescents. Students are prepared to work as entry-level practitioners capable of effectively providing services to children representing the full age spectrum. The D.C. Campus offers an array of practicum and internship opportunities with nonprofits and governmental agencies.

The Treatment of Addiction Disorders Concentration, within the Counseling Psychology master's program, provides specific education in the area of assessment, intervention/prevention, and treatment of alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) and behavioral addictions. This concentration prepares individuals to provide effective Counseling Psychology services for a wide range of addictions in community-based environments.

Students in our Counseling Psychology master's program gain the knowledge and develop the skills to help children, adults, and families overcome mental health challenges. Graduates are prepared to work in a variety of settings including hospitals, substance abuse programs, and private practice. D.C. Campus students may choose from two concentrations to fit their unique career goals: Child and Adolescent Psychology, and Treatment of Addiction Disorders.
