A: Yes. We have tours and admission counseling appointments every Monday through Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Just call 800.721.8072 and ask for an appointment. If these times do not work with your schedule, give us a call and we can find a time that will work.
Q: When is the application deadline for your programs?

Q: What if I miss the April 1 general consideration deadline for the master's and Ed.S. programs?

Q: Can a student begin program course work in the spring semester?
A: Occasionally, a spring start date is available. Please contact the Office of Admission at 800.721.8072 to find out if your program of interest is offered with a spring start.
Q: How many years will it take me to complete each program?
- Generally, our Master's programs can be completed in two years full-time or up to five years part-time.
- Our School Psychology Ed.S. program typically takes three years full-time, but must be completed within a maximum of six years.
- Applied Behavior Analysis Psy.D. is a post-Master's program which can be completed in three years full-time or five years part-time.
- Business and Clinical Psy.D. programs require five years at full-time, but part-time options may be available.
Q: Can I get my bachelor’s degree at your school?
A: The Chicago School is solely a graduate institution.
Q: Do you need a degree in psychology to apply?
A: No. You must have or be completing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution to apply, though all programs do have prerequisite course requirements. Click here for a complete list.
Q: Can I take some of my prerequisite courses at The Chicago School?
A: We offer both an online Research Methods course and a Statistics course in the summer. These courses are open to all of our accepted students. Email admissions@thechicagoschool.edu for more information.
Q: Are your programs accredited?
A: The Chicago School is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission* and a member of the North Central Association. In addition, our Chicago campus Clinical Psychology doctoral program is accredited by the American Psychological Association**. The School Psychology Ed.S. program is accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)***.
Q: Is the GRE required?
A: The GRE is required for all of our doctoral programs. It is not required for our master’s programs or Ed.S. program, however, we do recommend taking the GRE to enhance your master’s application.
Q: Is there a minimum GPA and GRE requirement?
A: No, although generally, the Master of Arts programs require a
3.0 or higher, and the Education Specialist and doctoral programs a 3.2 or higher (4.0 scale). However, your GPA and GRE scores are only one part of your application. Each applicant is reviewed holistically, taking factors such as personal and professional experience and accomplishments into consideration. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Office of Admission to discuss their unique qualifications.
Q: When does the fall semester begin?
A: The semester begins on August 31.
Q: How much is tuition?

Q: Do you provide housing?
A: Although The Chicago School does not have its own residence halls, we do send incoming students a detailed overview of moving and living in Chicago and/or Los Angeles. Students are encouraged to call the Admission Office for further assistance.
Q: Does the school have a parking facility?
A: No, but there are a number of hourly-fee garages around each of our campuses. Our Chicago and Los Angeles campuses are easily accessible by public transportation, which most of our faculty, staff, and students use.
