  • Diversity Mural Project
  • In Spring 2006, the center welcomed artist Siona Benjamin to campus to share her unique artistic talents and multicultural insights for a special Diversity Mural Project.  Originally from Bombay and now living in the United States, Benjamin is a renowned artist and educator who has worked extensively with schools and communities in using art as a form of social change.  Benjamin worked with various students from The Chicago School in creating several mural pieces reflecting the diversity of Chicago's neighborhoods.  The murals are exhibited throughout the school and a companion booklet was created to help students better understand the historical roots of the neighborhoods that inspire the mural pieces.
