The Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza

The Cultural Impact Conference was created to recognize and promote multicultural competence and cultural sensitivity in mental health services. The Conference represents the Chicago School of Professional Psychology’s effort to bring mental health professionals from across the country together to explore ideas, share research, and discuss best practices in multicultural psychology in a scholarly manner. The theme for this year’s conference is “Psychology in the Service of Latino Communities”, which coincides with the introduction of the new and dynamic Center for Latino Mental Health (CLMH) here at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

The 2008 Cultural Impact Conference will shed light on the complex issues related to caring for and working with the Latino population—our nation’s largest and fastest growing ethnic group.

Student Poster Session

As a part of this year’s conference, The Chicago School of Profession Psychology will have a student poster session that features students’ work in the area of psychology as the service of Latino community. We invite poster proposals that reflect some focus on multiculturalism, diversity, and/or social justice in mental health services. Proposal topics may include current research (empirical or conceptual), use of theory and application, intervention work, activism, training, or other endeavors related to mental health services. Strongest consideration will be given to those proposals that focus on the theme of the conference.

Questions regarding poster proposal submissions should be directed to Dr. Tamba-Kuii Bailey, at tbailey@thechicagoschool.edu.
