Diversity and Global Studies

A cornerstone of The Chicago School mission is our commitment to serving and embracing diverse and underserved populations around the world. We actively infuse all of our academic programs with curricula to build students’ knowledge of and competence in working with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives–preparing them to be highly effective practitioners in today’s world.

In addition, our Center for Multicultural and Diversity Studies and our Center for International Studies provide students with countless opportunities to expand their multicultural sophistication. Through the centers, students organize campus forums, conduct research, and contribute to training, practice, and public policy focused on multiculturalism, international human rights, global justice, international relations, diplomacy, and more. In keeping with our hands-on approach to education, students also enjoy multiple travel opportunities (most recently including trips to Germany, Japan, the Middle East, and the United Nations in New York), through which they immerse themselves in different cultures while serving as ambassadors for the psychology profession.

The National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology has recognized The Chicago School for distinguished service and outstanding contributions to cultural diversity.
