Biographical Sketch
Dr. Meyers joined The Chicago School faculty in 1984. He is an associate professor in the Forensic Psychology program. Previously, Dr. Meyers served as chair of the Forensic Psychology program. Dr. Meyers has also served as director of the Department of Psychology and chief forensic psychologist of Forensic Clinical Services for the Circuit Court of Cook County, director of adolescent services at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute, and director of the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He provides seminars and workshops to judges, attorneys, probation officers, and other court personnel. He was invited to serve on the Juvenile Court’s Advisory Committee, setting standards, priorities, and objectives for court services.
Dr. Meyers has been a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois since 1972 and maintains a private clinical psychology practice in Highland Park. He continues to conduct forensic examinations and serve as an expert witness in criminal and juvenile delinquency cases. Currently, Dr. Meyers is involved in a Hate Crimes Probation Program in Cook County as a representative of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Meyers has maintained a strong commitment to training and education throughout his professional career. In recognition of his dedication to students and excellence in teaching, he has received the “Teacher of the Year” award from students at The Chicago School.
Dr. Meyers received M.S. and B.A. degrees from the City College of New York and earned a Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1971.
