Biographical Sketch
Dr. Fogel is a Board Certified Forensic Psychologist, American Board of Professional Psychology. He began teaching at The Chicago School as adjunct faculty in spring 2003, the first academic year of the Forensic Psychology M.A. program. He became the program’s associate chair in 2006 and its chair in 2007. Prior to joining The Chicago School, he served as director of the Sex Offender Evaluation Unit for the Illinois Department of Corrections. He has extensive experience in authoring forensic evaluation reports and providing expert witness testimony in both civil and criminal matters. He has completed forensic evaluations in several states and at the federal level. In addition to his activities at the school, Dr. Fogel maintains a private forensic practice. His areas of expertise include competence to stand trial, competence to wave Miranda, criminal responsibility, sex offender evalautions, violence risk assessment, testamentary capacity.
