The Leader's Tool Kit: Online Workshops
Each of these courses are eight weeks, asynchronous online classes. Individuals may enroll as courses are scheduled. Organizations wishing to use these courses in their employee learning programs may schedule cohorts at any time by contacting leadership@thechicagoschool.edu and may qualify for group pricing. Pricing varies depending on whether or not the course is taken for credit or as continuing education only. Participants enrolling for credit may take up to six credit hours without formally enrolling at The Chicago School as a "student at large".
ELA332 Leveraging Organizational Surveys
Through this class, participants will evaluate survey design and delivery strategies with regard to an accurate identification of issues within the organization. Participants will learn how to create and use surveys to predict organizational performance, ROI, turnover, and employee performance. (1 credit hour, may be taken for credit or certificate only)
ELA333 Leading Across the Generation Gap
Based on selected readings and using interactive exercises, participants will analyze and contrast the expectations, motivation, goals, and attitudes of the “new generation” of employees with more traditional groups. Participants will develop strategies to apply their knowledge of management and motivational techniques effectively across generations of employees to the benefit of all stakeholders. ELA334 Polished Presentations
This class provides participants with the skills they need to develop focused, well-organized and persuasive presentations, proposals, and letters. Emphasis will be placed on targeting the audience, building logical arguments, thinking critically about content, and using effective face to face presentation techniques. (1 credit hour equivalent; certificate only)
ELA335 Professional Communication Essentials
This course introduces participants to techniques that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business communication across conventional formats. Participants will evaluate and identify the appropriate situations for email, paper, voice, or personal communication and they will apply appropriate cross-cultural business communication etiquette.

ELA336 Strategic Planning for Nonprofit Executives
Participants in this workshop will learn how to write or revise a strategic plan by defining its purpose, collecting background data about the organization, and writing or revising the plan, section by section. This workshop also includes developing a definition and purpose for the strategic plan, learning how to collect background data, evaluating and summarizing background data, and writing or revising the strategic plan itself. They will also make recommendations to the organization based on their plan. (1 credit hour, may be taken for credit or certificate only)
