In keeping with our mission to embrace diverse and underserved populations, our Los Angeles campus is located in the heart of the most diverse city in the most diverse state in our nation. Perhaps best known for Hollywood celebrities, Universal Studios, world-class shopping, and incredible nightlife, Los Angeles also boasts unmatched ethnic, cultural, political and social diversity–providing an unsurpassed range of opportunities for personal enrichment and professional training. This urban campus is located in the city’s downtown business district, in the historic “617 building,” with its incredible barrel ceilings and gleaming brass elevators—that open into our ultra-contemporary campus with exposed duct work, concrete floors, dramatic lighting, and state-of-the-art technology. The campus is just steps from the metro train station and public parking, and a short drive from the 110, 101, 5, and 10 freeways.

Graduate Psychology Programs Offered in Los Angeles

Doctoral (Psy.D.)

Our Clinical Psychology doctorate program in Los Angeles is based on a practitioner/scholar model of training, which focuses on teaching students a broad knowledge of scientific and theoretical clinical psychology principles they can apply to a variety of clinical disorders in the diverse populations they will encounter in their professional practices.
The Chicago School offers prospective students the option of the nation’s first and only Business Psychology doctorate degree. Our graduates will gain the knowledge and experience needed to help a variety of businesses and individuals perform more effectively, solve problems, and grow professionally in today's global, multicultural work environment.
The program integrates the eight core competencies informed by the educational model of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology (NCSPP), helping prepare students to sit for the national licensure exam in clinical psychology.
Find an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) doctoral program with a curriculum that includes classroom, real-world experience and internships. Students enrolled in our Psy.D. Applied Behavior Analysis program will be provided specialization options that include neurology, research methods, performance technologies, biological and institutional issues in behavior, as well as other specializations. The only program of its kind in Southern California.

Master’s (M.A.)

Graduates of our Industrial Organizational Psychology program will gain a foundation in the theory of I/O psychology and research and learn valuable business psychology skills. This knowledge and bank of skills will allow graduates to take the lead in such things as personnel selection, organizational assessment, development, and interventions.
Students receive a solid foundation in the principles of clinical psychology, in addition to gaining the essential diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative skills they need to be outstanding marital and family therapists working with a range of clinical populations and a variety of emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues.
Learn the theoretical frameworks and scientific bases of ABA clinical work with our Applied Behavior Analysis masters program. Graduates will also develop skills that will be beneficial to their professional practices such as the ability to appropriately determine the cause(s) of problem behavior, develop effective interventions, and properly assess outcomes.

Michele Nealon-Woods, Psy.D.

Dr. Nealon-Woods is the 2006 recipient of The Chicago School's Distinguished Teaching Award in public service teaching. She was the first dean of the school's Los Angeles campus before being named campus president in 2009. (more)
