Fellowship Requirements and Selection Criteria:
- Students will need to submit their FAFSA so that the applicant’s financial need can be evaluated (International applicants, submit financial documents including but not limited to bank statements, Visa documents, I-20)
- 400+ word statement of interest in understanding and working with underserved and/or underrepresented populations as well as relevant past experiences (educational, research, practical and personal)
- Two letters of recommendations from previous or current instructors or supervisors which describe and evaluate your experiences with underserved and/or underrepresented populations. You may use recommendation letters from admission materials so long as the recommendations address the fit of the applicant for this fellowship.
- A sample of the applicant’s written work is requested
- Selected candidates will be interviewed
Recipients of this award will:
- Dedicate 15 hours a week to the Center for Multicultural and Diversity Studies under the supervision of Dr. Amanda Kim
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning, developing and participating in the programmatic, research, and scholarship activities of the Center for Multicultural and Diversity Studies as well as the larger Chicago School community
- Be given a list of expectations at the beginning of fellowship term
