New Student Checklist

Welcome to The Chicago School. Here is a checklist of things that you will need to know and do in order to have a smooth transition to The Chicago School.

1. Complete your financial aid paperwork. Complete your FAFSA and submit your Institutional Financial Aid Application and estimated award letter to the Office of Financial Aid. Watch for your final award letter and promissory note. If you are using financial aid, contact Leticia Chavez, financial aid advisor: 312.329.6685, lchavez@thechicagoschool.edu. Or, to set up a payment plan, contact Spencer Ham, student accounts advisor: 312.410.8970, sham@thechicagoschool.edu.

2. Plan your schedule. Use the program specific information included in your Welcome Kit and the academic catalog to assist you with planning your fall schedule. Your department manager is available to assist you should you require additional help. Visit your department's page for more information.

3. Explore your online services. Use the user ID and password mailed to you in the summer to explore the many online services and resources available at The Chicago School.

4. Register for classes. Use ePortal to register online. Registration is designed for self-service, but if necessary, personal assistance is always available through Student Services.

5. Attend the new student orientation. New student orientations are designed to provide students with the information necessary for success in her or his first year. New students will have the opportunity to meet program faculty throughout and fellow incoming students.
