Socratic Round Table

The Socratic Round Table is a forum for scholarly dialogue on important contemporoary issues in psychological theory and practice. First-year doctoral students are selected to participate together with faculty from the Clinical Psy.D. and Business Psy.D. programs. The Socratic Round Table is a collaborative effort of the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) and the Psy.D. programs' faculty. 

Socratic Round Table Goals

Informed by the mission of The Chicago School and the Center for Academic Excellence, the goals of the Socratic Round Table are:

  • To provide a forum for scholarly dialogue and discussion
  • To contribute to the learning community of The Chicago School
  • To increase the number of well-prepared, confident, and able graduates entering the field of psychology
Participation Requirements
  • First-year status in a doctoral program
  • Referral by a designated faculty member of the student's doctoral program 
  • High academic standing
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to the program

The Socratic Round Table meets eight times each semester on the second and third Tuesday of each month, 4:30 – 6 p.m., in room 713.
