Prior to joining The Chicago School in 2009, Timothy T. Shannon’s previous posts include vice president for development and alumni relations at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and president of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. He also has extensive trustee credentials, having served on boards at Xavier University, Regis University, and a host of other nonprofits.

While at John Carroll University, Shannon managed the conclusion of a successful $135 million capital campaign, cultivated new benefactors, and expanded the endowment and planned giving efforts that resulted in $6.5 million in new bequests. He also revamped the university’s corporate and foundation support.

Shannon holds Ph.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Boston College and a De.U. in Philosophy from Loyola University in Chicago. A passionate international traveler, he has experienced more than 40 countries, lived oversees, and has participated in global development fellowships in Kenya, Tanzania, India, Nepal, Thailand, Australia, Peru, Chile, and Israel.
