Biography

Dr. Fogel is Board Certified in Forensic Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). He began teaching at The Chicago School as adjunct faculty in spring 2003, the first academic year of the Forensic Psychology M.A. program. In January 2006, he joined the Department of Forensic Psychology as its Associate Chair. In May 2007, he became Chair. After over three years of service, in August 2010, Dr. Fogel transitioned to faculty. Prior to joining The Chicago School, Dr. Fogel served as Director of the Sex Offender Evaluation Unit for the Illinois Department of Corrections and as a forensic evaluator at Bridgewater State Hospital-Massachusetts' only maximum security forensic psychiatric hospital-for the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Fogel has extensive experience authoring forensic evaluation reports and providing expert witness testimony in both civil and criminal matters. He has completed forensic evaluations in several states and at the federal level. In addition to his activities at The Chicago School, Dr. Fogel serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Forensic Psychology, which is the ABPP specialty board responsible for the certifying process in forensic psychology, and maintains a private forensic practice.
