Biography

Loren M. Hill earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology and a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Antioch University, in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Hill also serves as Director of The Chicago School’s Forensic Training Institute, which offers free or low-cost crisis intervention training; workshops on topics, ranging from post-traumatic stress disorder to substance abuse; mental health counseling; and research services in partnership with local organizations and agencies.

Dr. Hill is involved in developing micro- and macro-assessment tools to assist community-based organizations with documentation and effectiveness measurement.

Her interests focus on positive psychology and trauma.

Dr. Hill’s expertise includes addiction; substance abuse and co-occurring disorders; trauma/PTSD, crisis intervention and secondary traumatic stress; inner-city violence; diversity issues; social economic status; and social justice and advocacy.
