Biography

I am Dr. Love; I completed an undergraduate degree at LSU (B.S. in psychology and a minor in sociology) followed by a M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from WVU. I completed an APA approved internship in Oklahoma, at NOPIP, followed by a post doc at UNT with Richard Rogers Ph.D. ABPP. I have been a licensed psychologist in Texas since 2011. I was at Dallas County Community Supervision and Corrections Department for 14 years where I worked extensively with diagnostic assessment of mental health, substance use disorders, high lethality domestic violence. In addition to individual therapy, I enjoy the group therapy process and have over the years been involved in group therapy for emotional coping skills, depression, anxiety, trauma recovery, substance use, domestic violence, anger management and more. I have been an adjunct lecturer at SMU since 2013 teaching Forensic Psychology. After years of working in the public sector I recently open my private practice, where I see adults with mood, addiction, or trauma issues, as well as diagnostic and forensic assessments. I have continued to serve on the NCTCOG scoring committee for criminal justice involved grants. I am currently an Associate Professor here at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology specializing in assessment courses. I am the faculty advisor to the student organization. I enjoy research and recently began the Dallas Campus first Forensic Lab, where I hope to create a supportive learning environment for students across cohorts interested in anything related to psychology and law.
