Addictions and the Family – DC campus
April 8 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT
More than 115 people die from opioid overdoses in the U.S. every day. Typically substance abuse issues are comorbid with mental health issues and these greatly affect family life. The family system has to be part of the solution in managing substance abuse issues, and particularly, the opioid crisis we are currently facing. This session will discuss the current overdose and drug-related deaths and will focus on how the family system can be a part of both the problem and the solution.
