Survivorship in “Me Too” Times: Triggers, Flashbacks, and Coping – DC campus

Recognizing the widespread problem of sexual assault, and giving voice to the victims, is important. However, it can have this unintended consequence of reminding triggering unwanted memories for survivors. What began with celebrity accusations has spread nationally and internationally. The “Me Too” movement, began trending one weekend has given voice to women who have suffered from sexual violence. This presentation reviews the effects of sexual violence and developing effective coping skills to manage unwanted symptoms.
