Violence Risk Assessment

February 2, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm CST

Presented by Nancy Zarse, Psy.D., Forensic Psychologist

This introductory workshop describes violence risk assessment and threat management. Participants will learn that there is no profile for a shooter. Participants will learn about risk factors for violence and the 6 stages of the Pathway to Intended Violence. Participants will learn the difference between a hunter and a howler and learn to apply that knowledge to the assessment of the risk of violence in schools, the workplace, and mass-casualty incidents. Participants will learn to ask: Did the person make a threat or does the person pose a threat?

Attendees have the option to earn 3 CES/CEUS continuing education credits.
