I earned my undergraduate degree in Child/Human Development and Family Studies from Purdue University. I have worked in not-for-profit and educational arenas before my pursuit of graduate studies.
I went on to earn my M.S. in Education/School Counseling at Purdue University-Calumet. While pursuing my graduate studies, I gained tremendous experience in instructional technologies as a graduate assistant utilizing Blackboard Learning Management Systems and facilitating online course development and training for faculty, staff and students. I also worked as a teaching assistant for Graduate Studies in Education and Counseling Department at Purdue University-Calumet and taught courses in Individual Counseling Theory and Techniques and Group Counseling Theory and Techniques. After these great experiences, my love for teaching and involvement with higher education flourished!
Prior to joining The Chicago School, I gained secondary education experience as a high school guidance counselor and obtained licensing in two states. In addition, my tremendous love for volunteer work has consisted of working with diverse groups of individuals in GED Math/English Tutoring in Adult Education programs and completing intake and needs assessments for food and clothes pantry participants in low-socioeconomic communities.
On The Chicago School campus, I work closely with the Career Services Department as a liaison for Online Programs, ensuring online students are aware of great resources, tools and events provided by Career Services to aid in stronger career development! I also have facilitated relationships with various departments for participation in events/presentations to encourage online participation and bring more resources to the attention of online students and the department as a whole.
In my spare time, I enjoy cardio kickboxing, jogging, travel, live music, Chicago Bears football, shopping, reading, writing poetry, spending time with family/friends and baking!
