Biography

Dr. Nugent Hirschbeck has been a member of the Chicago School Community since 1991. After she graduated from the Chicago School in 1995, she became an Affiliate Faculty member for the Clinical PsyD program for 10 years, then transitioned to the MACC program for 5 years as a half-time Associate Professor. For the past few years, she has been an adjunct professor for the Masters Forensic and Clinical PsyD programs before joining the MAP department as a full-time faculty member. While teaching for the past 20 years, she has served as the Chief Psychologist for an Illinois State hospital; as the Clinical Psychologist for a Juvenile Detention Center; owned a private practice treating families and couples; and as the Clinical & Training Director for a non-for-profit agency (for 17 years). She has developed multiple training practicum opportunities and research projects with students over the years and has trained over a hundred assessment and therapy practicum students. She has been the primary investigator and co-investigator for multiple research projects focusing on the treatment of Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, & vocational barriers in the Chronic Mentally Ill population. Dr. Nugent-Hirschbeck is the lead director & consultant for ongoing CARF & DHS site surveys in Illinois.
