Dr. Megan Wheeler is a licensed clinical psychologist in Washington, DC and Virginia who has dual doctorates in Clinical Psychology and Physiology (Cognitive Neuroscience). She received her neuroscience D.Phil. from Oxford University in 2005, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. In 2016, she received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Catholic University of America, having completed her clinical internship at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center where she specialized in neuropsychology.
Dr. Wheeler is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's Washington DC Campus. She previously held an appointment as Assistant Dean of the Faculty and Research Assistant Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Dartmouth College.
Dr. Wheeler cares deeply about the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to scientific inquiry. To that end, her research focuses on the intersection between neuroscience and clinical psychology. Current projects include a collaboration with the NIH investigating the neuroscience of suicidality and continued investigation of the neuroscience of mindfulness. She was recently named one of Metro DC's "40 under 40 emerging leaders" by Leadership Arlington.
Dr. Wheeler maintains a private practice, MindMap LLC (www.mymindmap.com), where she sees clients for both therapy and neuropsychological assessment.
