Dr. Oliva received her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Stetson University where she also became a Certified School Counselor. She then went on for her Ph.D. in Counseling Education from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Oliva has 18 years of clinical experience in private practice and government agencies working with children, adolescents, young adults, couple and families. In addition Dr. Oliva has been an Assistant Professor and Adjunct Professor at The University of Central Florida, Montclair State University, Palm Beach Atlantic University and Shenandoah University. Currently Dr. Oliva is an Assistant Professor in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program in the DC campus. In addition, Dr. Oliva, has a small private practice in Northern Virginia that focuses on adolescents and young adults working through Identity Development, Diversity Acculturation, and Sexual Orientation as well as Couples and Family Counseling.
