Mrs. Ratz is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Mrs. Ratz graduated with her Master's in Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She joined the Applied Professional Practice team as one of the Associate Directors in the MACP program in January of 2011. Prior to this she has been practicing as a bilingual family therapist at The Pediatric Developmental Center with Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Here she worked primarily with Spanish speaking families who were seeking help for their children with a history of developmental problems associated with behavioral difficulties. Mrs. Ratz also has a Master's degree in Health Psychology from National-Louis University. Upon graduation she worked as a child therapist in the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at Lurie Children's Hospital (previously Children's Memorial Hospital).

Ms. Ratz is a firm believer in addressing the family's needs as a whole, as well as helping the underserved population, such as immigrants, or families that are experiencing homelessness. An immigrant herself, Mrs. Ratz came to Chicago from her native Romania in September of 2003. Her work with families experiencing homelessness is part of her collaboration with FACT (Family Assertive Community Treatment), an interagency coalition advocating for addressing the needs of the entire family unit.

Mrs. Ratz's areas of expertise include treatment of children and adolescents on the Autistic Spectrum, working with parents of children with developmental disabilities, as well as working with couples. Mrs. Ratz completed all three levels of the Gottman couples training (2011- 2013). As a licensed clinical professional counselor, Mrs. Ratz is a member of American Counseling Association as well as Illinois Counseling Association.
