Dr. Janelle Bettis is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland. Dr. Bettis obtained her Masters of Arts in Community Counseling and Doctorate of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University, Northern Virginia. Dr. Bettis has 7 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a myriad of diagnoses such as bipolar, depression, anxiety, ODD, ADHD. Dr. Bettis has worked in a variety ofsettings such as school, in home, clinic and within the community.
Research interests include multiculturalism/diversity, clinical supervision, wellness, ethics, value conflicts, counselor wellness, and spirituality/religion, in-home/offsite therapy, counselors in training, LGBTQ, and African American women, cognitive complexity/metacognitions.
Dr. Bettis currently serves as 2017-2018 ACES Emerging Leader, Maryland Counseling Association, Secretary, is an NBCC Foundation Mentor, and SACES Co-Chair Graduate Student Committee. Dr. Bettis has served/is also a member of, VCA, DCCA, ASERVIC, ASERVIC-VA, AMCD, AMCD Writing Consortium, National Board for Certified Counselors Foundation Mentor, and Chi Sigma Iota International Honor Society Member.
