Dr. Nicholson is a doctor of Social/Personality Psychology and focuses on decision-making, social influence, and relationship dynamics. He also holds a Master's degree in Social Work, with an emphasis on direct practice-as well as a Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, with a concentration on training, statistics, and psychometrics. Overall, his research and practice centers around helping individuals be more effective and persuasive in managing their professional and personal interactions.

Dr. Nicholson has taught with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology since 2010. He has also served as a professional writer/blogger for Psychology Today since 2011, in the areas of social influence and romantic relationships. Before that, Dr. Nicholson spent 9 years in the healthcare industry, helping to develop, manage, and train healthcare professionals in psychosocial interventions to improve end-of-life care treatment and planning
