This multi-disciplinary research and treatment facility in Chicago provides students with an opportunity to assist in the Think and Speak lab. Students will primarily work with individuals recovering from traumatic brain injury, learning how to assess and take data to assist in individualized treatment plans. HILA is a kindergarten through fifth-grade elementary school where practicum students may assist with school-wide support efforts and ABA programming for students with autism, other developmental disabilities, and emotional behavior disorders. The Illinois Crisis Prevention Network (ICPN) provides students an opportunity to impact the behavioral and medical needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, specifically those who may be experiencing significant behavioral and medical challenges. North Shore Pediatric Therapy

Precision ABA

Practicum students will use evidence-based practices to educate children and adolescents using the principles of ABA. Services at Precision ABA use a Precision Teaching model and include in-home therapy, parent training, and school consultations.

 

Advocate Illinois Masonic

The Pediatric Developmental Center of Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center is a family-centered, multidisciplinary clinic specializing in the treatment of children who experience both developmental and behavioral or social-emotional difficulties. This is a specialized facility offering comprehensive services to children and families who are diverse in terms of socioeconomic status, race/ethnicity, and presenting concerns. This company assesses each client prior to writing a behavior plan that utilizes both antecedents as well as consequence-based strategies to effectively target the function of any given behavior. Students may work directly with parents and other support team members (e.g., school staff, respite caregivers, day program personnel) to ensure that there is a clear understanding of and consistency in plan implementation.
