Rhoderick J. Ramsey, Ph.D., has a doctorate in educational psychology and technology from The Chicago School. He had been focused on learners and how they interact with modes of training and learning for almost 20 years. Most recently, he has been researching how the sudden growth of AI will affect higher education and the workforce as well as the way people, especially educators and students, will react to drastic changes in how humans and robots interact.
Dr. Ramsey believes the rapid expansion of AI will cause majors disruptions in the workforce, but it is too soon to say how because there will be so much flux across a very wide range of occupations. There will be an increase in information available to workers but it’s not clear yet which human skills AI tools will be able to adopt. When it comes to higher education, Dr. Ramsey talks about advantages to learners in the realm of personalized learning, and he also addresses concerns regarding plagiarism, fact-checking, and cultural bias.
