Inside The Chicago School’s New West Loop Campus

The Chicago School unveils a state-of-the-art West Loop campus, a $1B adaptive reuse project expanding health sciences and community impact.

The Chicago School is deepening its commitment to the city with a major investment in a new, state-of-the-art West Loop campus, an adaptive reuse project expected to generate more than $1 billion in economic impact over the next decade. After exploring more than 100 locations across Chicago, leaders across the university and The Community Solution selected a historic building whose natural light, architectural character, and neighborhood vibrancy provided the ideal foundation for a modern, student-centered learning environment.

The transformation of this landmark space reflects an exceptional collaboration among faculty, staff, students, RDG Planning & Design, Skender Construction, and tradespeople across the city. Together, they created a dynamic campus designed for flexibility, innovation, and interdisciplinary teaching.

The new facility features one of the region’s most advanced simulation centers and standardized patient labs. These assets support The Chicago School’s continued expansion of its health sciences programs, including the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Honoring the past while shaping the future, the West Loop campus embodies The Chicago School’s mission to advance community well-being and prepare emerging leaders across integrated health care.
