Forty years ago on February 26, The Chicago School opened its doors with 15 students in its first Clinical Psy.D. program. To mark the anniversary, celebrations took place at every campus across the university. In those forty years of education, innovation, and service in local communities, The Chicago School has reached many milestones, including:
1984: The Chicago School receives regional accreditation
1987: The Chicago Campus’ Clinical Psy.D. Program is accredited by the APA
2000: Dr. Michael Horowitz is named president
2001: TCSPP begins offering master’s level courses
2005: TCSPP offers the nation’s first Psy.D. in Business Psychology
2007: TCSPP enrolls its first cohort of distance learners
2008: Los Angeles Campus opens
2010: Washington, D.C. Campus opens, Dr. Michele Nealon is named president
2016: TCSPP launches Clinical Psy.D. Program on Xavier University of Louisiana campus
2017: The Chicago School earns WSCUC Reaffirmation of Accreditation for the maximum of 10 years, San Diego Campus opens
2018: Dallas Campus opens
From an inaugural class of 15 and one program 40 years ago, to more than 20 programs across seven campuses serving nearly 5,000 students from all around the world today. Happy Anniversary TCSPP!
