President’s Blog: Immigration

As an immigrant, immigration is a topic that hits particularly close to home for me. I was born and raised in Ireland, and moved to the United States many years ago. Like so many generations before me, I work very hard to build a quality life for myself and my children. The national dialogue on immigration has oftentimes become quite volatile, and it saddens me to listen to it.  At TCSPP, we eagerly welcome international students, and greatly benefit from the diverse experiences and perspectives they bring to the classroom. They represent a microcosm of our country at large. We are who we are because of the breadth of backgrounds and the multicultural nature of our traditions. As we become an increasingly global society, we can make the greatest strides forward if we welcome many voices at the table.

Why not challenge ourselves to broaden our perspectives and share mutual experiences with those that are new to this country?

Remember: Life is short. Let’s each of us do our part to make it the best we can for ourselves and those around us.
