2020 was a heavy year filled with so much grief and hardship—reckonings with racial and social injustices following the murder of George Floyd and a deadly disease left unchecked that disproportionately affects communities of color. The months have blended together into a blur. Still, so much remains unsaid in the silence.
Black voices have made innumerable contributions to The Chicago School over the years. We recognize them now and always. We turn to four Black members of our community to reflect on this past year and their identities as Black leaders in society.
