The former president of Harold Washington College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, has also served as an assistant dean at DePaul University\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

(CHICAGO) (August 31, 2017) <\/strong>Dr. Margie Martyn<\/strong> has been named Campus Dean of the Chicago Campus of The Chicago School<\/a>. The Chicago School is one of the leading nonprofit institutions devoted exclusively to psychology, and related behavioral health sciences. Dr. Martyn assumed the new role on August 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Dr. Martyn, who brings a wealth of academic leadership experience to the Chicago Campus, our founding campus. Not only has she done great work for institutions like Harold Washington College and DePaul University, but she is also a former Chicago School colleague. Dr. Martyn helped develop our very successful Online Campus while serving as Vice President of Instructional Systems and Dean of Online-Blended Programs five years ago,\u201d said The Chicago School President Michele Nealon, Psy.D.<\/a> \u201cShe wholeheartedly embraces our vision to become the preeminent institution for professional psychology.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be given this opportunity to rejoin The Chicago School community,\u201d said Dr. Martyn. \u201cThe Chicago School’s mission and values truly resonate with me\u2014the focus on innovation, commitment to diversity, and service to community are all priorities in my personal and professional life. A life-long educator dedicated to student success, Dr. Martyn previously worked at DePaul University as Assistant Dean of Academic Administration, College of Computing and Digital Media; was a full-time faculty member at Baldwin-Wallace University; and served as part-time faculty at DePaul, the University of Akron and Harold Washington College. She has published numerous articles and conducted recent research on the impact of technology on student learning outcomes and engagement, and is a peer reviewer and chair for the Higher Learning Commission, a regional accreditor in the Midwest region.<\/p>\n

Dr. Martyn earned her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Akron and her M.B.A. from Baldwin-Wallace College.<\/p>\n
