{"id":107907,"date":"2019-08-01T13:24:46","date_gmt":"2019-08-01T18:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thechicagoschool.edu\/insight\/?p=107907"},"modified":"2019-08-14T13:44:46","modified_gmt":"2019-08-14T18:44:46","slug":"socal-campus-commencement-2019-video-highlights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thechicagoschool.edu\/insight\/for-our-wellness\/socal-campus-commencement-2019-video-highlights\/","title":{"rendered":"SoCal Campus Commencement 2019: Video Highlights"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"clearfix\"><p>More than 250 graduates from the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechicagoschool.edu\/los-angeles\/\">Southern California <\/a><\/strong>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechicagoschool.edu\/online\/\"><strong>Online<\/strong> <\/a>\u00a0campuses of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechicagoschool.edu\/\">The Chicago School of Professional Psychology<\/a><\/strong>, received degrees at the June 21 Commencement ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThis is a thrilling time for us all,\u201d said TCSPP SoCal Dean Justin Cassity, Ed.D. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cIt\u2019s that time of year in which the students see the years of hard work and sacrifice come to fruition, and we can take pride in knowing that we played a part in preparing more professionals who will fill the gaps in mental and behavioral health services, and in doing so, positively impact the community.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Joani<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Wafer, co-founder of Kids\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Korps<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, a nonprofit youth volunteer organization that engages adolescents and college students in community service, received the honorary degree, while Kenneth\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Skale<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Psy.D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0 was named the distinguished alum. The 2015 graduate has extensive experience in integrative care and is the president-elect of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The graduating class heard from fellow\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">graduate <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rossana<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sida<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Psy.D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. who is a practicing sex and relationship therapist in West Los Angeles.
