The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Xavier University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program<\/a> (TCSPP@XULA) earned Accreditation on Contingency from the American Psychological Association. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The APA Commission on Accreditation sets the standards for accreditation and recognizes the quality of the training provided by the TCSPP@XULA<\/a> program and deems it in substantial compliance with the Standards of Accreditation.\u00a0<\/span> The expiration date of contingent status is July 21, 2024.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBecause we\u2019re a very young program, I\u2019m incredibly pleased at this outcome, especially given its implications for our first graduates in 2020,\u201d said Program Chair Kelli Johnson, Ph.D. \u201cThe Accreditation on Contingency status confirms the quality of the education and training we provide to our students and our dedication to making a meaningful contribution to the mental health community in Louisiana.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Xavier University of Louisiana<\/a> (XULA) and The Chicago School reached a formal agreement to launch a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (<\/span>Psy.D<\/span>.) Program on the XULA Campus in New Orle<\/span>ans in 2013<\/span>. The program\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>the first of its kind offered in the state of Louisiana and the only Clinical\u00a0<\/span>Psy.D<\/span>. Program in the City of New Orleans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Founded in 1925,\u00a0<\/span>Xavier University of Louisiana is an historically black university<\/span>\u00a0(HBCU) recognized\u00a0<\/span>for its College of Pharmacy and for graduating students in the biological and public health sciences<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a particular thrill to congratulate XULA, Dr. Johnson and the dedicated faculty and staff on this achievement<\/span>,\u201d said TCSPP President Michele<\/span>\u00a0Nealon<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Psy.D<\/span>. \u201cWhen Xavier and The Chicago School partnered to bring the first Clinical\u00a0<\/span>Psy.D<\/span>. Program to New Orleans, our goal was to help meet the mental and behavioral health needs of the region. Earning this accreditation is no small feat, and the recognition is further proof that our institutions made the right decision.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
