Dr. Glen Earl, Dept. Chair Business Psychology<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Real-world experience\u00a0<\/span>is on tap for students at the Dallas Campus<\/a>\u2019\u00a0<\/span>upcoming\u00a0<\/span>Social Impact Day for grassroots nonprofits and small businesses in the local area.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Organized by\u00a0<\/span>Dr. Glen Earl in partnership with the Dallas Fort Worth Organiz<\/span>ation Development Network (DFW-ODN), t<\/span>he Social Impact Day<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is an event where TCSPP-Dallas Business Psychology Department<\/a> provides a half-day of free organizational development consulting (OD) to local non-profits and small businesses<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBoth M.A. IO and Ph.D. students participate,\u201d explained Dr. Earl. \u201cWe team up with seasoned OD<\/span>\u00a0practitioners from the DFW-ODN and offer several elements of organizational development, including strategic visioning and implementation; clarifying vision, mission and values; and organizational design and structure.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This will be the second time the Dallas Campus hosts a Social Impact Day<\/span>\u00a0(SID)<\/span>, prompted\u00a0<\/span>by\u00a0<\/span>Dr. Earl<\/span>\u2019s experience with one\u00a0<\/span>several years ago.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI had such a positive experience, I decided to launch a SID here at TCSPP-Dallas. It gives students an early hands-on experience of what organizational development is really like. The SID is actually a laboratory where students learn in real time.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They hope to have a minimum of five organization participate during the half day October 26<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0event, and n<\/span>on-profit organization<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0and small businesses interested in free consultation are encouraged to\u00a0<\/span>contact Dr. Earl\u00a0<\/span>at\u00a0<\/span>gearl@thechicagoschool.edu<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>for information about applying.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span> Registration<\/a> is open.

\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe SID demonstrates all four of the TCSPP values of Education, Innovation, Service and Community. Additionally, it provides the students a realistic experience of their profession<\/span>.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
