New partnership formed to provide scholarships to eligible military spouses.<\/em><\/p>\n

(LOS ANGELES) (OCTOBER 6, 2017)<\/strong> \u2013The Chicago School<\/a>,\u00a0a leading nonprofit university devoted exclusively to psychology, and related behavioral health sciences, has partnered with the National Military Family Association (NMFA)<\/a> to offer eligible NMFA military spouse members scholarships<\/a> ranging from $2,500 to $16,500. Through this partnership, The Chicago School aims to support NMFA\u2019s goal to \u201chelp prepare military spouses for meaningful employment and to better contribute to their family\u2019s financial security.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chicago School will offer potential scholarships of $7,500 for Bachelor\u2019s degrees ($2,500 for degree completion), $8,500 for Master\u2019s degrees and $16,500 for doctoral degrees. These scholarships are exclusively for military spouses who register on the NMFA website. To apply or inquire about the above scholarships, please email ajones@militaryfamily.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scholarships are distributed over the students\u2019 terms\/semesters and prospective students can attend all The Chicago School campuses located in Chicago, Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego, Washington, D.C., and Online, where more than 20 degrees are offered in the fields of psychology and behavioral health, including business psychology, forensic psychology, and counseling services.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur partnership with NMFA furthers our mission to have a diverse student population, and is unique in that it supports the spouses of military members who are eager to continue their education,\u201d said The Chicago School President Dr. Michele Nealon. \u201cThese scholarships will put many military spouses in a better position to help fill the gaps in mental and behavioral health care services.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMilitary spouses often put their own education and career goals on hold to support their family through deployments, frequent moves, and even a service member’s injury,\u201d said NMFA Executive Director Joyce Raezer. \u201cWe are grateful that The Chicago School recognizes these sacrifices, and because of their commitment, we are excited to see more military spouses enter the mental health field and make a difference in their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
