The Chicago School and Bowie State University have signed an articulation agreement providing a new path to graduate school for Bowie State psychology students. The agreement enables active Bowie State students to take graduate-level courses at The Chicago School\u2019s Washington, D.C., Campus while completing their bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be forging this partnership with Bowie State University,\u201d says Michele Nealon, Psy.D., president of The Chicago School. \u201cWorking together, we can graduate generations of diverse professionals who can fundamentally improve the health and well-being of communities across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bowie State, located in Bowie, Maryland, is well-established as one of the nation\u2019s oldest Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Leaders at both Bowie State and The Chicago School hope that the agreement will help open further educational pathways for Bowie State students.<\/p>\n

Working together, we can graduate generations of diverse professionals who can fundamentally improve the health and well-being of communities across the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe agreement between Bowie State University and our institution is a significant milestone,\u201d President Nealon says. \u201cIt will afford undergraduate students belonging to historically disenfranchised groups the opportunity to jump start their graduate school education and access careers in psychology and behavioral health.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eligible programs at The Chicago School include Applied Behavior Analysis, Forensic Psychology, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Courses will count toward students\u2019 Bowie State bachelor\u2019s degree and their eventual graduate degree from The Chicago School. Students are also eligible for a one-time scholarship.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis agreement opens doors to exciting new opportunities for our students who wish to pursue career positions that have become integral to our nation\u2019s healthcare system,\u201d said Aminta H. Breaux, Ph.D., president of Bowie State. \u201cWe are excited to see what our graduates accomplish in collaboration with The Chicago School as they enter an increasingly diverse\u2014and competitive\u2014workforce and become pillars of their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
