In this article, President Michele Nealon, Psy.D., describes how The Chicago School is making a difference in the city of Dallas, Texas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In Dallas, our 200+ students learn how to make a difference in their communities within nine distinct academic programs across the certificate, master\u2019s, and doctoral levels. These students achieve change-making impact before they even graduate through partnerships with community organizations such as Coppell Family Therapy and Busara Therapeutic Support Home for Women, where students put their classroom learning into action to assist those in need.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, students learn how to advocate for impact across the integrated healthcare field. Through advocacy-focused workshops, our students network with local elected officials, public health officials, and community health leaders to examine how they can play a role in increasing access to integrated care. At The Chicago School, students develop a powerful voice not only in one-on-one patient interactions, but also in driving meaningful change for communities at large.<\/p>\n<p>We will continue to grow our investment in Dallas in the years ahead with the development of our proposed Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine.
