The Commission on Accreditation has voted to reaffirm accreditation of the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program at The Chicago School\u2019s Washington, D.C., Campus following a comprehensive multiyear review.<\/p>\n

The decision was made during the commission\u2019s April 2\u20135, 2025, meeting. The next site visit is scheduled for 2034.<\/p>\n

The review included the program\u2019s most recent self-study report, third-party comment dated Jan. 2, 2023, program correspondence dated May 30, 2024, preliminary administrative review and the program\u2019s response, additional correspondence dated July 15, 2024, the site visit report from Nov. 12\u201313, 2024, and the program\u2019s response to that report.<\/p>\n

The commission determined that the program adheres to the Standards of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology and is in substantial compliance. In accordance with implementing regulations, the program will undergo a full review within 10 years of its last site visit, including required interim reporting, to ensure continued adherence to accreditation standards.<\/p>\n

The program will remain listed among accredited programs in health service psychology on the commission\u2019s accreditation web pages.<\/p>\n

The commission cited the quality of training provided by the Clinical Psy.D. program, which follows a practitioner-scholar model and offers broad generalist training. The program collects and evaluates both proximal and distal data to assess effectiveness in achieving training aims and to guide ongoing improvement.<\/p>\n

The review also recognized policies designed to support timely program completion and reduce attrition. Program leadership was noted as stable, well-qualified and well-credentialed, with consistent communication maintained with internship programs and the accrediting body.<\/p>\n

Accreditation is an ongoing process centered on continuous self-study and evaluation. The commission identified follow-up items requiring additional attention, which the program will address through the Commission on Accreditation portal.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
