Receipt of the accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs denotes a commitment to program excellence.<\/em><\/p>\n

(LOS ANGELES) (February 1, 2018) \u2013<\/strong>The Online Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program<\/a> has been granted eight years accreditation by the Board of Directors of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) through March 31, 2026. CACREP is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, which provides recognition that the content and quality of a program has been evaluated and meets standards set by the profession. The Chicago School is one of the leading nonprofit institutions devoted exclusively to psychology, and related behavioral health sciences.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis recognition is exciting for our program and students,\u201d said Dr. LoriAnn Stretch, Department Chair. \u201cThe CHMC Program provides graduates with the skills necessary to provide mental health services to a wide range of clients, including children and adolescents, adults, families and couples. Students are prepared with competencies including ethics, research, evaluation, diagnosis, theories, career assessment, and counseling interventions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to receive this tremendous recognition by CACREP,\u201d said Dr. Tiffany Masson, Campus Dean, Online Campus, who noted that the CACREP Board commended The Chicago School for the work completed during the accreditation process. \u201c<\/strong>Our program has been very successful since inception in September 2014, and having this recognition means our students are receiving thorough preparation as counselors and are on track to pursue counseling licensure.\u201d<\/p>\n
