\"\"\u201cWe are excited that CCC graduates will now be able to complete their bachelor\u2019s degree at The Chicago School and go on to further study here as well. These students will be the leaders who will help move Chicago forward in the future,\u201d said Chicago Campus<\/a> Dean Dr. Margie Martyn when announcing the new partnership.<\/p>\n

Under the new partnership, The Chicago School becomes a STAR Scholarship<\/a> transfer partner with City Colleges of Chicago<\/a> (CCC), a system of community colleges. The STAR Scholarship was created in 2015 by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to provide Chicago Public School students with an opportunity to pursue a degree or certificate at CCC campuses at no cost. As a transfer partner, The Chicago School joins 24 other colleges and universities offering STAR Scholars additional scholarships toward completion of their bachelor\u2019s degrees.<\/p>\n

The Chicago School will provide transfer students with $2,500 in scholarship funds over the course of two years to complete a bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur University began in Chicago 40 years ago and, on this special anniversary occasion, we are thrilled to highlight the year through a \"\"<\/p>\n

partnership with CCC, giving us an opportunity to offer CCC students a bachelor\u2019s completion program in this most wonderful city,\u201d said The Chicago School President Dr. Michele Nealon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dr. Martyn has also served as a past president of Harold Washington College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago. \u201cAs a former CCC President, I know that students who are transferring from CCC are academically prepared, have an extremely strong work ethic, and the grit to succeed,\u201d she enthused.<\/p>\n

City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Juan Salgado<\/a> added, \u201cThese students have worked hard in high school and at City Colleges and are on the path to further academic and professional success.\u201c<\/p>\n

CCC STAR students who complete an Associate in Arts (AA), Science (AS), and General Studies (AGS) with a 3.0 or higher GPA will be guaranteed admission to The Chicago School. To qualify for the admission guarantee, STAR Scholars must apply for admission to the University in accordance with the rules, policies, and procedures of The Chicago School in effect at the time of application.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe STAR Scholarship helps thousands of hardworking Chicago students access a college education no matter their financial means or background. The Chicago School joins the growing list of higher education institutions to see the value in Chicago\u2019s students and help them achieve the successful futures they deserve,\u201d said City of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.<\/p>\n
