\"\"(LOS ANGELES) (January 24, 2017<\/strong>) \u2013 For the third consecutive year, Military Advanced Education<\/em> & Transition<\/em> (MAE&T<\/em>) has awarded The Chicago School, the designation of a Top School in its 2017 Guide to Colleges & Universities<\/strong>, measuring best practices in military and veteran education. The Chicago School is one of the leading nonprofit graduate universities devoted exclusively to the study of psychology, and related behavioral health sciences.<\/p>\n

Now in its tenth year of publishing the Guide, MAE&T<\/em> was the first publication to launch a reference tool of this type. This year, institutes were evaluated on their military culture, financial aid, flexibility, general support, on-campus support and online support services<\/strong> that enables prospective students to quickly target schools that follow best practices in military education, and then put these in context with other academic or career considerations.<\/p>\n

The 2017 Guide is printed in the December issue of Military Advanced Education &Transition<\/em>, and is also published in a searchable database online. Students have access to all the survey questions and answers provided by the schools, as well as explanations about critical issues like activation and deployment policies, withdrawal policies, scholarship and financial aid information and important support information.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are many different variables by which you could evaluate an institution, but we focus on the best practices that have been asserted by various higher education groups and reinforced by veteran groups. These best practices assure students that they have a high chance of success and support at their school of choice,\u201d said Kelly Fodel, Military Advanced Education & Transition\u2019s<\/em> editor-in-chief.<\/p>\n

\u201cInclusion in the 2017 guide shows our commitment to providing a supportive environment and community for military and veteran students,\u201d said Jennifer Stripe-Portillo, Vice President, Student Affairs, The Chicago School. \u201cAnd with the opening of our new campus in San Diego<\/a>, which is home to some of the largest populations of service members, we hope to become even more accessible to military and veteran students.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chicago School was also included in the list of 2017 Military Friendly\u00ae Schools, a site that rates and recognizes companies and colleges with leading programs for veteran members of the Armed Forces leaving military service, and military spouses, and will soon become even more accessible to those who serve and have served in the military with the opening of its new San Diego Campus in Fall 2017\u2014a region that is home to some of the largest populations of service members and veterans in the country.<\/p>\n
