M.A. Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy

Locations: Los Angeles, Anaheim, Online

Pathway to: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LA, Anaheim, Online); Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LA, Anaheim)

The M.A. Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy program primarily focuses on the inter-relationships between the self and others in the world. Effective treatment in this field requires mental health practitioners who have both a broad knowledge of the scientific and theoretical principles in the clinical practice of marriage and family therapy, and the ability to apply that knowledge to specific clinical situations.

The M.A. Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy program at The Chicago School is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).

 

M.A. Forensic Psychology: Professional Counselor Licensure Track

Pathway to: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

The M.A. Forensic Psychology: Professional Counselor Licensure Track program equips you with essential diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative skills in preparation to work with a variety of populations within the legal system.

The Chicago School’s Forensic Psychology program incorporates the eight content areas outlined by the National Board of Certified Counselors.

 

Psy.D. Clinical Psychology

Locations: Los Angeles, Anaheim

Pathway to: Psychologist

For more than 40 years, The Chicago School has trained exceptional clinical psychologists in our flagship program, Psy.D. Clinical Psychology.

You will learn to integrate biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of human functioning into your clinical approach. Coursework on the core building blocks of clinical practice–assessment, diversity, ethics, research, and professional development–prepare you to work with professionals from other disciplines as part of an effectively functioning healthcare team.

 

Psy.D. Applied Clinical Psychology

Locations: Los Angeles, Anaheim, Online

Pathway to: Psychologist

The Psy.D. Applied Clinical Psychology post-master’s program will train you to become an informed and critical practitioner who seamlessly integrates extensive scientific and theoretical knowledge into diverse clinical scenarios.

Upon successful completion of the Psy.D. Applied Clinical Psychology program, you will be able to deliver effective and ethical psychotherapeutic services, devise culturally competent treatment plans with diverse clients, and critically evaluate research.

 

Psy.D. Clinical Forensic Psychology

Locations: Los Angeles, Anaheim

Pathway to: Psychologist

The Psy.D. Clinical Forensic Psychology program can help you bring concepts of clinical psychology into the legal and public policy arenas in an ethical, academically informed, and research-based manner.

Course content is regularly updated to reflect developments in the law and to emphasize critical thinking, sensitivity to ethical principles, the role of personal values, and cultural diversity.
