Margie Martyn, Ph.D. selected as Chicago Campus Dean

The former president of Harold Washington College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, has also served as an assistant dean at DePaul University 

(CHICAGO) (August 31, 2017) Dr. Margie Martyn has been named Campus Dean of the Chicago Campus of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP). The Chicago School is one of the leading nonprofit institutions devoted exclusively to psychology, and related behavioral health sciences. Dr. Martyn assumed the new role on August 14.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Martyn, who brings a wealth of academic leadership experience to the Chicago Campus, our founding campus. Not only has she done great work for institutions like Harold Washington College and DePaul University, but she is also a former TCSPP colleague. Dr. Martyn helped develop our very successful Online Campus while serving as Vice President of Instructional Systems and Dean of Online-Blended Programs five years ago,” said TCSPP President Michele Nealon, Psy.D. “She wholeheartedly embraces our vision to become the preeminent institution for professional psychology.”

A life-long educator dedicated to student success, Dr. Martyn previously worked at DePaul University as Assistant Dean of Academic Administration, College of Computing and Digital Media; was a full-time faculty member at Baldwin-Wallace University; and served as part-time faculty at DePaul, the University of Akron and Harold Washington College. She has published numerous articles and conducted recent research on the impact of technology on student learning outcomes and engagement, and is a peer reviewer and chair for the Higher Learning Commission, a regional accreditor in the Midwest region.

Dr. Martyn earned her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Akron and her M.B.A. from Baldwin-Wallace College.
